Julie, Chris and family. I was so blessed to have had your mom in my life. She helped a young woman raise a baby for the first five years. I knew she loved Carly as much as I did. I loved your mother and all your family. My heart aches, but I will honor Gladys this weekend and have breakfast at Cracker Barrel. All my love Julie, Nancy, Alvarez Oliver.

Gladys was one of the kindest selfless people I’ve ever met. She was like a second mom to everyone in the neighborhood as we all grew up. She was always either baking fudge, making us mayonnaise sandwiches or hosting all of the neighbors at the pool. I remember a time a few years ago when our kids said “Gladys isn’t our Aunt”? She certainly made everyone feel like family. Gladys certainly affected many lives and she will be truly missed.

I would like to give my condolences to the family! But I would also like to say how loved she was at McDonald’s! She would come into McDonald’s every day for her Diet Coke and bring a cheerful and friendly smile to all of us and that would make my whole day! She was the sweetest person I have ever met! She will be missed very much!

Simply heartbreaking. It was one of the greatest privileges of my life to get to know Glady. She had a way of uplifting everyone around her simply by being herself. Few people have made me genuinely laugh so much and been so kind. She will be missed. I extend my deepest condolences to Gladys's family and to all who were fortunate enough to know her. For some reason, I feel compelled to try one of those sausage McMuffins with strawberry jelly that she raved to me about.
