I am very sorry to learn of Richard's passing, since I no longer resided in Oswego County I missed the posting of his passing. I worked with Richard at the Fulton Patriot and he was a good and true friend who always was available to help, listen and share a laugh with. Even years after I moved on to other employments Richard always had a smile and cheerful greeting for me. He encouraged me to pursue further education and took pleasure in my accomplishments. He will always be missed by family and friends.

“It takes a mighty good man to be better than no man at all” Richard was a very humble and kind man; there were no pretenses in him and his actions. What you saw is what you got, Richard through and through. I will always be grateful of our friendship and the pure love of knowing that we were cousins. Richard was always up for a visit when I came home to visit and always had a great interest of learning about Texas, where I live. I will miss Richard and the times that my brother Lee and I would share with him reminiscing over the good old days and current events. Many Blessings, Helena (Dusharm) Wallace

He had such a huge impact on my life and became one of the closest people to me and my kids! Always there to love us! We were so lucky to have such a great uncle! Life will never be the same without him! We loved him so much and will forever miss him:( we were lucky and blessed to have the time we did with him!

So sorry to hear of Rich's passing. We worked together at The Valley News back in the '80s. He was a pleasure and joy to work with. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. RIP.
