Rest in Peace, Ron. As a retired Fulton Police Officer, I have fond memories of stopping by your office to say hello. You and Cathy Trowbridge were always good for a joke, a smile and a kind word, (and usually a cup of coffee). You will be greatly missed. Your memory will live on, Mr. Mayor!

I've known Ron for many years. His Mom (Lillian) and our mom(Violet Vanderhaden Belson) were best of friends all through out their lives. Our family spent a lot of time together well we were growing up.
I'm proud to call him our friend .
When he became Mayor of Fulton I knew he would do all he could do for our City of Fulton and the families that lived there.

Dear Gail and Entire Woodward Family:
Please accept our most sincere and heartfelt condolences in your loss. In knowing Ron for over 40 years I can attest without any reservation or hesitation that he was an individual with integrity and compassion in all that he did and how he conducted himself with everyone regardless of their ethnicity, race, social class, gender or age not to mention political party affiliation; Ron would always take the time necessary in discussing whatever issue was presented forward and applying his due-diligence in considering the issue(s). His accomplishments were many given the challenging period in which demanded strong leadership and experience that Ron clearly possessed in guiding the City of Fulton through these difficult times. I'm certain that many others can more eloquently put into words how much Ron did for the City and community over the decades of his civic involvement and I'm very confident that these would only capture but a very small and miniscule segment of what Ron achieved. For me, Ron will be forever remembered for his morality and conviction in doing the right thing, not always the more popular thing and his calming demeanor in discharging his duties of being a public servant. But of all the attributes and accolades for Ron, there is none more of privilege and honor than to refer to Ron as my good friend. He will be missed dearly by all of us in my family and the entire Fulton Community.
In Sympathy and Friendship,
Ed & Kim Garrow

I am very saddened to hear of Ron’s passing. It was a great honor to be his Fire Chief for a short time. Ron was an encyclopedia of knowledge when it came to the City of Fulton and cared very deeply about its success. I always enjoyed our daily chats and his passion for everything from politics to his Mom’s canning recipes. One thing I always appreciated about Ron was that he was always very good about letting you know exactly what he was thinking. I also witnessed first hand how much he cared about the people that worked for him. The city has lost a great resource of knowledge and wisdom. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, family and his work family during this time of sadness.

I am so sorry to hear this news. I met Ron when I was in 3rd grade with his son Ronnie. We had so much fun hanging out at their house, swimming in their pool and playing games. His family was my family. I can say this, Ron your were a man on a mission and carried yourself with confidence and showed compassion. You were the same at home as you were in office. You will be deeply missed.

My deepest condolences to the Woodward family. Ron served the City of Fulton admirably for over 30 years. He was down to earth and compassionate, understanding that the people of our city could not afford continual tax increases. He will be missed by all who knew him.
