There are not enough kind words to describe Vivian and her ever present ministry to all she met. She was always available to help in any way possible, spreading kindness and a spirituality that often brought peace to a hectic world. I am so sorry to learn of her illness and death; and I am praying for all those who will feel her loss daily.

Some people are put on this earth to make it stronger, kinder and more peaceful. Thank you Summerville family for endlessly sharing Pastor Vivian. I did not know her long or well but she knew me and touched my heart in so many little ways. Her actions, her words, her kindness will live in so many hearts for years to come. Her influence will live on forever.

Dear Darcy and Family:
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Vivian's death. I have wonderful memories of laughter, Emmaus, sharing her faith openly, her love of family, Fred -- the love of her life, and the list could go on. I am sorry that I can't be present with you tomorrow but know that I am there in spirit. I can't drive that far and with COVID-19 I don't want to take chances. Your mother was so very proud of you Darcy and loved your family to pieces. She spoke of you often and loved her grandsons immensely. May the Lord carry you all through this difficult time. I pray you will feel the love being extended to you from everyone around/ I can't imagine the number of lives she touched. I can hear our Lord now, "Well, done good and faithful servant!" My deepest condolences and I thank you that I had the opportunity for Vivian to be in my life. The video tribute was beautiful. Blessings and Much Love, Mary Drake

Fred and Family, Words cannot express our sorrow at losing this amazing woman. From the days she babysat for our daughter, through all our children growing up on Jacksonville Road, through her friendship and ministry to our late neighbor, and everything in between, she has been a pillar in this community, county, and around the world. We mourn with you all but will do it privately. We would very much like to attend Vivian's funeral, but because of Covid, we will watch the service on Facebook and save space for those closest and dearest to her and family. Our sincere condolences to you all.

It is with a sad heart, that I say goodbye to "Viv". She and I had some nice times and good conversations both during our years at CMCS and after. I am sure that I join all our classmates in conveying condolences to Fred and all her entire family on this sad but yet joyous occasion as she rises into her new world.

Dearest Fred and family,
It’s with a heavy heart that I share my memory of Pastor Vivian. We met over thirty years ago with the Fulton Council of Christian Churches. Serving our community with faith, love, and joy began a long-standing friendship with us. In 2013, Pastor married myself and Donald, with Fred as our best man. Then with family and friends, we initiated our union with a sand celebration of both families for which she designed and orchestrated. Our thanks to her for all beautiful memories showing love and forgiveness. Pastor Vivian was a lady full of love for others, especially her Fred and children. We were all blessed by her presence and words. May she Rest In Peace with Our Lord and Savior forever.
In sympathy and love,
Rosemary Occhino-Pilawa

Vivian was one of my best friends, she was a mentor, a traveling companion, and as I once told her, one of the best gifts I ever received from going into ministry. A gift from God and so much more. For her I give thanks.

Though I only met Rev. Vivian Summerville once, my impression of her was that of a sweet, sweet lady. She delivered the eulogy of my beloved son, Jeff Eckert, in 2015 and had also performed the ceremony when he married. I wish to express my sympathy to her family.

Rev. Summerville did such a wonderful job with my father's eulogy about 6 years ago. I always loved her friendliness and her smile and I can see it reflected in Darcie's smile as well. My mother remembers when she got married and how many of them went swimming in our pond on Lakeshore Rd afterward. Our families have been connected for many years. Prayers to her entire family.
