Dear Louise, Ronnie, Greg and David,
Sending sympathy your way from Ft. Myers Beach, Fl. in the passing of your husband and father.
What fond memories Bob and I have of bringing up our family in the same neighborhood as yours, so
many years ago. You and Ron were great neighbors and friends. It was a joyful time.
Thinking of you and wishing you peace and comfort at this sorrowful time. He is gone from your
sight, but never from your hearts.
With Love,
Donna Dlugozima.

Mrs Spencer, I am so sorry for your loss. My mom enjoyed having you and your husband as neighbors for many years and was grateful to have you both as friends.

My older brother just informed my mom that Mr. Spencer died earlier in the week. I have not seen Mr. Spencer for nearly 40 years and the instant I read about his passing his face and funny laugh popped in my head. I was not surprised to open this site and see the young navy picture and picture David posted reveal the same happy face I remembered from 40 years ago. My prayers and thoughts are with the family in hopes they will cherish and celebrate the wonderful comical soul of Mr. Spencer. I spent a lot of time at the Spencer house growing up and have fond memories – coolest cellar ever, what can I say …. My family was blessed with the nicest neighbors on both Ellen and Curtis street. God Bless the Spencer Family- Sandy Dlugozima

I will always remember Mr. Spencer and classic one-line humor. A funny story to share:
One evening at Battle Island golf course, we had a family gathering out on the patio with several of us playing pitch. Mr. Spencer was in his prime making jokes throughout the game and had us in tears with his classic one liners. Mr. Spencer walked away to use the bathroom and while he was away, the group stacked the deck to give him all face cards all in the suit of clubs. It was a four bid all day long. Our trick was to let Mr. Spencer bid first then someone would outbid him with a bid of “shoot the moon”.
The classic one-liner I will never forget and brings tears to my eyes to this day is Mr. Spencer’s comment made when everyone at the table were dealt their cards, and we were all getting ready to bid, he looks at his cards and said, “I have more Clubs in my hand than a Golf Course”.
Of course, he bid the four and my brother outbid him, and he almost cried. A classic moment for many that day. Mr. Spencer; you always made us smile and you will be missed.
God Bless

You taught us to laugh everyday, always to have a sense of humor, and too never take life too serious. You always said the secret to staying young was “to never act your age.” On the nicest day of the year, with the sun shining, and the birds chirping God has welcomed you to heaven. Now you will be “forever young.”
