You did it Spank! You opened doors for me. Humanity naturally keeps a vigilance, a watchfulness about itself not easily penetrated.Your name was key to the Gatekeeper opening wide for my entry into your world...live music, barbecues, your friends( new and old), the tradesmen ... gifted and attractive people all! Thank you, brother. You never required a thing of me, strangely. And you never denied me what becomes a blessing. My undying love to you for that. If I can ask of you one more thing... when it is decided that I am to cross the Jordan River, would you stand firmly behind the Gatekeeper and let him know that I am your brother. I wish for no delay at holding you again.

Spank always spoke of his family with pride, love, and how lucky he was to have you all. He also took extra time with friends like myself, to make sure we were ok, and knew how he felt. I was lucky to have such a friendship. He also was very upfront with his issues with this disease, helping others who took time to listen, understand. I am also very proud to call him my friend. Heartfelt hugs and love to all who lived him..I wish he and all of you ..peace.

We are blessed to hold memories of “Spank” in our hearts. My heart is heavy and I grieve with my family, but we celebrate the comfort and joy he now has in heaven. My uncle will forever be know through his kindness, gentleness and created and window for others the see the beautiful world of our God through the talented details in his artwork and craft. As a carpenter, he had the gift to see the beauty in the broken, and found joy in restoration and resurrection bringing life to his craft and to our hearts. We love you Uncle Spank.
